    1. Normally a birth is registering without name of the baby
      1. you can enter the name within 12 months without any fees band after that with a fine of Rs 5
2.if a name is already entered in birth register, you can change it once before school admission(1st standard)
3.but after school admission, the name will be entered as per school record only
4.if you changed your name by Gazette notification, that name can be inserted as alias name
      5. In the case of adopted child a new name can be substituted even if old one is existing .

  12. its a complicated question.
    as per kerala CR's circular,
the birth certificate is being corrected only as per school records.
The local registrar is helpless in this situation

    Sreya
    You can
1)Change the name by gazette notification and add the new name (Correction will not allowed ) in the birth register as alias name
2)file a petition before the court for correcting the name in school register as mentioned in the gazette notification.
if a favorable order is received ,the name in the school record can be corrected.
then it is easy to correct the birth registration, by producing the school record

  14. it is clear that the DOB in SSLC, Adhar and Passport are wrong.please take steps to correct DOB in your SSLC book first.(Apply to the commissioner of Exams through the school in which you studied last.
Then apply to the passport officer to correct the DOB in passport as per Birth Certificate.
Correction in adhar can also be done later.

DOB IN ALL MY CERTIFICATES & PASSPORT IS SAME.I DO LIVE IN GULF. RECENTLY I HAVE COLLECTED MY BIRTH CERTIFICATE FROM MUNICIPALITY TO APPLY FOR JOB IN EUROPEAN COUNTRIES. DOB IN BIRTH CERTIFICATE IS DIFFERENT .EVEN MY IELTS CERT ALSO BASED ON OLD DOB & IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CHANGE IELTS CERT.IM FACING BIG TROUBLE.ANY SOLUTION TO CONTINUE WITH MY OLD BIRTH DATE AS PER IN ALL CERTIFICATES , PASSPORT & MY GULF DOCUMENTS.

    1. This is a very common question and i am sad to say ,there is no a way to solve this problem.
Really your birth certificate carries the original DOB and in other all records its recorded wrongly. in gulf countries its enough. but in western countries they consider even spelling. the only way is ,CORRECT the wrong DOB in all records other than BC even though it is uneasy

if needed, you can add the expansion of initials in the BC as
      Adharv.K.V Alias Adharv kunnummal veetil
      OK?

    3. Hi SreeKumar,

      Thank you for the reply.

So DOB in birth certificate can't be corrected and the correction needs to be done on other documents....which is time consuming and require dedicated efforts. Given that I live and work in Gulf.

I have downloaded the Hand Book on civil registration from https://cr.lsgkerala.gov.in/Content.php?id=B

      Page: 86 last paragraph says

"The third aspect is that the Registrar shall not alter the original entry but shall make the correction in the margin and shall sign the same giving the data or correction. For example, if a date of birth is corrected, the original date as well as the corrected date will remain side by side on the registrar and any certified copy of the said entry will contain both the dates."

and further can be seen at Page:166 before last paragraph (66. Query)

I am not sure about the above context is applicable in my case.

      Regards

    4. in your case it is not possible.
If the original entry in the register is wrong, it is rounding off and the real one is added in the margins.(Really there is no margins!) in your case the real entry cant he rounded off.

  34. Hi sir,
My father is no more, at the time of his death, his name was given as T. O Pathrose, but the real name is Thekkumpuram Ouseph Peter. There are no existing documents are available to prove that T. O pathrose and T. O Peter are one person. His school certificate is not avaialable in school. His marriage wasnt govt registered.
To correct my birth certificate fathers name, rwgisgrar asked me to correct fathers death certificafe. Also my mother does have the corrected death certificate to move to my elder brothers location via dependent visa. So the verification of documents and name complication would make a problem.

For that, i produced one and same certificate, notary addidivit, certificates from village officer, panchayat secretary, panchayat president and 2 gazetted officers certificate.
    Still helpless.
Could you hdlp and ghide us to get out of this ptoblem sir
